STARWELD SELECT LASER
WELDING SYSTEM
Xledm has added StarWeld Select, a fully integrated laser
welding system to its credit. The system includes an
ergonomically optimized manual welding laser, joystick
controlled deposit
welding system or high-precision CNC system – a unique welding
concept with four high-precision axes, short setup times and
easy CNC programming.
The laser unit is designed specifically for welding metals and
metal alloys such as steel, gold, platinum, titanium and copper.
This welding can be done either with or without filler wire.
The compact housing contains the laser source, power supply,
cooling system, viewing optics and working chamber. The
enclosure is designed to take into account the current best
practice in ergonomics. For example the distance between the arm
ports has been designed to minimize operator fatigue whilst
using the system.
The flow of shielding gas and the firing of the laser are
activated by a two-stage foot pedal. Connections for shield gas
and cooling air are provided as standard and the integrated
protection window allows a comfortable view into the working
chamber in addition to the normal viewing optics.
